Just a few minutes ago, I was strolling around the web enjoying this and that. What a pleasant discovery to find this article mentioning an Oregon wine from Penner-Ash Wine Cellars in Newberg (part of our northern wine region). Yes, our state’s wine industry has been discovered and it is burgeoning! Even our modest Rogue Valley (at the southern end of our state) has seen unprecedented growth since 2000, when hubby and I joined the immigration northward. A few details at: http://rvwinegrowers.org

I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Penner-Ash Wine Cellars yet. As an enophile (aka “lover of wine”), I simply want to give a shout out to fellow Oregonians whose vision, hard work and drinkable art made it to the lips of some very powerful people. I hope the President, the first lady and the Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife were able to savor a bit of Oregon’s wine bounty. Kudos to RON and LYNN PENNER-ASH and their employees!
